Job Description:

Our client (well-known healthcare company in Irvine) is seeking a CDM Specialist to join our corporate Chargemaster team in Irvine, CA to maintain the integrity of our corporate CDM.

Depending on experience, its 73K-93K salary range.

The CDM Specialist position performs the following:

? Ensures the Chargemaster (CDM) is consistent with coding and billing regulations and accurately represents the services provided by 15 hospitals.

? Responds to CDM maintenance requests and reviews inquiries from departments, PFS, Compliance regarding CDM issues.

? Ensures accuracy of the Meditech Standard and Craneware Corporate Toolkit.

? Responsible for the training of hospital departments regarding compliant charge practice; the CDM maintenance process; annual CPT/HCPC code updates; and charge capture improvement.

? Performs detailed, annual review of the CDM and CPT/HCPC code changes and updates Meditech and Craneware systems.

? Collaborates with the clinical departments and enterprise Information System team to ensure that the appropriate ancillary/clinical modules are updated appropriately.

? Serves as subject matter expert related to charging and billing issues and assists in developing and maintaining CDM related policies and procedures.

Education:

Bachelor?s degree in Nursing, Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration or Business Administration.

Experience:

? Minimum five years of hospital chargemaster experience, including the use of CDM Maintenance software;

? Expert knowledge of inpatient and outpatient billing requirements, coding guidelines and CMS Medicare reimbursement methodology;

? Knowledge of CPT, HCPCs, Revenue Codes, and ICD9 coding principles required;

? Thorough understanding of the relationship to coding, billing and compliance in a hospital setting. License / Certification: RN or Certified Coder a plus.

Preferred Position Qualifications:

? Experience and knowledge of Hospital charging practices and laws and regulations pertaining to healthcare.

? Experience in Hospital operations, a general understanding of the revenue cycle with emphasis on billing, coding, and charge capture.

? Current knowledge of the Revenue cycle and specifically the flow of charges in and across hospital billing systems.

? Experience researching and resolving complex billing and coding issues.

? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interpret, communicate, and educate others.

? Superior communication and presentation skills with the ability to present complex information to management.

? Ability to respond to complex inquiries in a professional and efficient manner.

? Previous experience with Patient Accounting Systems (particularly Meditech Client Server and Craneware Toolkit CMT, ORT.

? Intermediate skill level using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

? Self-starter and detail oriented.

? Strong quantitative, analytical and organizational skills.

? Mathematical skills, including basic accounting.

? Must be able to work regular M-F 5/8 schedule.

? Travel 10-15% travel. Must drive/own transportation.
