  • A hospital in California is looking for an experienced ER nurse for a travel contract.

    • Job Requirements
    • 2 full years of experience as an ER nurse.
    • Hold an active BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH, and CA License.
      • Schedule Information
      • Shifts are 12 hours long. Shift options include Days, Mids, and Nights.
      • Self-scheduling is available but not finalized until the manager balances it.
      • Schedules are set for 4 weeks.
      • Block scheduling is not guaranteed.
      • 4 weekend shifts are required in a 4-week schedule.
        • Unit Specific Information
        • 21 beds in the ER with a fast track staffed with midlevel's & LVNs.
        • Ratios are 1 to 4 unless ICU patient would be 1 to 2.
        • Phillips for tele-monitoring.
        • There is ventilator support available.
        • Hospitalists or Intensivists are in-house for the ER.
        • No dedicated IV team.
        • Respiratory Therapists are available 24/7.
        • Pharmacy is available 24/7 with Omnicell.
        • Common diagnosis/types of patients seen in ER.
        • The unit includes typical ER patients as well as occasional MedSurg Tele holds.
          • Additional Details
          • ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS certifications are required.
          • CERNER experience is required.
          • Floating could happen between the 2 facilities to the ER.
